2010 Dave Darland Silver Crown Foxco 56 WIP

Post by Joe »

Got the car basically all stripped down last night. Now I have to find a good paint match for the blue. Also tryin to decide if I want to paint the roll cage red like the real 1:1 car or leave it black for simplicity reasons...... I'll post some pics here soon.

Progress!! Masking off the body panels from the frame is gonna be a NIGHTMARE i think..... Also, the 1:1 car has a red frame, dont know if I'm going to try and paint this frame or not....might just leave it black. Came a long way...long way to go!

Patience is key. Lots of wiggling the plastic pieces to get the glue to separate and not break. Getting the pins out of the front axle so the spindle and wheel come off together wasnt real fun either. Rear tail tank is 2 pieces. Have to move the rear differential out of the way to get to the screws on the bottom of the tank.

Looks good mate. Go the whole hog and do the chassis red.
They're certainly "fun" to pull apart.

Sprayed some blue paint today. I see lots or color sanding in my future.

Diecast are a lot more work than expected. I dunno whats more time consuming, a Monogram build or hacking a diecast.... Helps when the chassis is the correct colour though. Keep at it mate, you will be pleased with the outcome.

It's a diecast made by Action. You can usually find several on ebay. Just search Action SIlver Crown and Im sure a few will pop up.
