Newbie's first post

Post by kossuth »

Hello all. First post here and wanted to introduce myself. Longtime sprint car fan and used to build models way back when I was a kid and getting back into it somewhat. I decided to build a replicate of Chad Layton's sprint car. My daughter and I are fans and I figured this would be a neat project. She's huge sprint car fan.... Anyways, I started with the Revell Steve Kinser model as the base for it. It's going OK, but I'm going to need to do some serious modifications to make this workout right, so I'm going to have questions I'm sure. Anyways, here are some pictures of the start of it. As I modify something I'll be sure to post it.

Here is the progress

This should be a fun project for you and the family; that's cool. Looks like maybe the hood is a little different than the 11 car but that should be easy enough to modify. The shocks are different, but again easy to fix. Decals look like they would be the biggest challenge. There's a guy, in the state you live in, that does all mine and for lots of others. Pole Cat. Please keep showing the progress and thanks for sharing.
