2012 Steve Kinser Maxim
I started this one a couple of months ago, and decided to post some pics of where I am right now. I'm hoping to get some reprints of the 2012 Steve Kinser decals from Joe, as I really like that scheme.
The chassis is completely scratch built from plastic rod. It was painted black and cleared with 2 part urethane. I also reworked the nose scoop to fit over the bars. I have several parts from Dirt Modeler, and built the rear end using their brake kit. The way everything fits together with the DM parts is incredible!! I hope to get more done soon and will post updates as I go!!

Top work mate. Lots of fiddling to fit that scoop over the bars.

looks good. how did you get the hi-gloss neon orange? all the paints I've seen in neon colors are flat.
Re: 2012 Steve Kinser Maxim
Thanks for the comments!! The orange did dry flat. It has been cleared with 2 part urethane, which gives it a deep gloss.

Sweet chassis. I love seeing scratchbuilt stuff! Eagerly awaiting what's now become the Kinser Duels between you and Dirt Demon!

Re: 2012 Steve Kinser Maxim
I got some more work done on the Kinser car. The rear end has been installed, as well as the front suspension. I used a combination of Dirt Modeler parts, along with pieces from the MAS Sprint Car set. Everything is held together with nuts and bolts from RB Motion. The Integra shocks were built from scratch using DM rod ends, aluminum tubing, and Detail Master fitting line. The cool part is the whole front suspension works!! I also scratch built the front spindles.
