Raced Version?

Post by jtmurp02 »

I know you can buy diecast cars that come in a races version- sprints, nascar, etc with dirt, rubber, scrapes, etc. Any advice on adding wear to model kits?

Yeah there's tons of options from just flinging some mud colored paint onto the model or adding baking soda for some clumps etc. I tried the mud paint technic on a spare hood and it came out ok. I also use the mud paint on tires. Thin it down a litte, slop it on the tread and then wipe off the top so the dirt just shows down in between the tread. Its what I did on the 1992 Gary Fisher 79 car I built a couple years ago.
