Brand New

Post by cshaffe1 »

I'm brand new to this, in fact I haven't built one ever before. I got an idea to make a 1/24 sprint car for my father to re create his old car from the early 2000's to give to him as a gift. I have no clue where to start or where I would even find parts to build one. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum mate. Lots of friendly folks and great advice here. Your local hobby shop should have or be able to get the current release Steve Kinser/Bass Pro Shops kit. Failing that,Ebay!. No doubt you have lots of pics of the car so you will need to reproduce the artwork. You can do that yourself or commission Joe,the administrator here to do it for you. Some basic tools like a nice hobby knife, suitable glue i.e. gel type super glue and your on your way.

This is actually the only picture I have of the car. My dad has most of them at his house. However he lives in Ohio. About 10 hours away. Ill try to get more of them. Thanks to everyone for all the welcomes!

I use the 1:18 scale model made by R&R enterprises. It's an authentic diecast model and comes with tons of options for example 3 different front wings, 2 sets of tires, ford and chevy headers, etc. It is authentic and very well built!
