Who thinks this would be a good idea?

Post by Joe »

I was thinking we should band together and try and get an article in either or both Scale auto and Model Cars Magazines about how to "update" the new kinser kit to something a little more accurate. I was thinking the simple stuff like the normal chassis mods, make a bubble arm guard, make accurate nerfs, put in a new seat etc......

BUT, we need the forum modeling "masters" to make some how-to's and someone good to write it all up.

Good idea or Bad idea?

Like the idea. Willing to give writing it ago. We will need to incorporate the resin and photoetch parts as well. How far do we take the mods. Basic like Drews old article or a bit further.

Maybe try and do 2. A simple, and a semi "extreme" type. 1st one just be basic plastics and kit bashing
. Then do one with the resin and photoetch insanity.

Was thinking about posting this sort of topic on here Joe... have 3 up dated kit chassis on the go atm... wanted to show (mostly for the new guys on here) that you can up date the kit chassis to latest specs and make it look quite nice... also wanted to see how much of the old chassis from the kit can be retained :)
I do think you are onto something good here Joe ;)

We did have a topic for this sort of thing once upon a time Robbie. With all the changes over the years it all got lost and we never updated it.

Leaving aside Joes idea for a moment,it might be an idea to go through all our progress pics on here and at home and make a compilation here.
