wheel rims

Post by sigmaman »

Hey folks. With the advent of the photoetch wheels been made, woulf you all be intersted in The Parts Box rereleasing the wheel rims without the centres. I've been considering approaching them about it but there will need to be sufficient interest in order for them to consider it.

I haven't tried the photo etched stuff yet, but would the rims have both sides, the kit ones always have the back seperate and would need to be cut apart, if so I think they would be a good selling point

At this stage it would be only the fronts like what they did some years ago. Backs would require me getting off my butt and making them. I still havn't quite finished the pointy hood yet. Need the feedback 'cause if there isn't enough interest they certainly won't do it.

would be nice to see some complete new upto current speck wheel rims moulded with back halves that would take the new P/E hubs without having to modify them in any way

If you'd like a few sets of the PE wheel centers to base your wheel rim design off, let me know.

I'm moving out of casting, which means me doing the wheels is unlikely, BUT they definitely need to get done.

I'd much rather offer the PE wheel centers that match your cast rims and tires then continue to struggle at casting as well as i want.

I'm interested, but at this stage, the lack of response from board members has me thinking that most aren't interested.
