I nthe late 70s the San Jose speedway closed. It was a banked 1/3 mile pavement track and all those racers had no where to race. The local fair grounds opened up a 1/3 mile dirt track and those pavement cars ran on it for years. The rules were changed to make the supermodifeds more like sprint cars ...

After 4 years of scratch building 1/8 scale race cars I decided to try something a bit smaller so I drew plans for a 1/12 scale modern day sprinter and started to build it. It is 1/3 shorter 12" vs. 18", less material and I think maybe a little faster to build. I will be able to get the same detail ...
